You’ve looked for a guide to help select the easiest-to-use no-code app builder for a while. Now, you’ve landed in the right place.

A while back, I founded a website, NoCode.Tech, that reviews the easiest no-code app builders available. I’ve spent over a decade helping people and organizations pick a no-code app builder that’s right for their needs.

Put simply, I know how to find the perfect no-code app builder for anyone’s needs.

In this article, I’m going to give you a rundown of the 6 easiest no-code app builders.

The Easiest No-Code App Builders

  • Softr, the easiest no-code app builder.
  • Adalo, the best balance of ease and functionality.
  • GoodBarber, easy but limited to local and small businesses.
  • NoLoco, the easiest business app builder for existing companies.
  • Bravo Studio, easy if you’re a designer, hard if you’re not.
  • Builder.ai, if you want to easily drag and drop a design, but have someone else build it.

What Makes a No-Code App Builder Easy to Use?

To use a no-code app builder, you don’t need technical skills to build your own app. Just choose a template and start building with a simple drag-and-drop interface. You operate this by using your mouse to connect parts of your app to your template.

The easiest no-code app builders also come with integrations to 3rd-party tools and services like Google Sheets, Square (for taking payments), and more. These integrations are easily connected to your template and execute tasks themselves, doing work for you.

These easy-to-use no-code app builders all come with a free trial or free version. This means you can shop around and figure out which app builder is your best fit before making a purchase.

After you select your app builder, you’ll get access to easy-to-understand tutorials in the form of articles and videos. These resources will provide greater insights into how to get the most out of your app builder.

I always get the following questions about the easiest no-code app builders:

  • Can you build actual apps without coding? Yes, you can build apps that you download to your phone or apps that you sign in to using an online portal with the no-code app builders on my list. They’re real apps, and they work just like the apps you already use every day.
  • Can I build my app with very little computer skills? If you can turn a computer on, open a web browser, and sign into an account, you can easily build your own app. I always say that anyone who can create a PowerPoint presentation can create an app.
  • What kind of apps can I build? You’ll be able to build:
  • A scheduling app for your restaurant or salon
  • A social media app
  • An app that rates food
  • An app for your online store, and more

The types of potential apps you can create with a no-code app builder are nearly limitless.

After you start building your app, you might get stuck or have questions. Don’t worry - the app builders on my list give you easily accessible support from the company. These companies will help get you through any issue quickly so you can focus on building your app.

#1 The Easiest No-Code App Builder

Softr

What is it?

Softr lets you create your own apps like you’re playing with Legos: You drag blocks together to create the app you want.

What kinds of apps can you make?

Softr is good for making simple web apps like a restaurant directory and internal business apps like an inventory management tool. But its simplicity is a limiting factor.

Softr isn’t great at dealing with real-time data, so you’d be hard-pressed to build an app that tracks the weather or up-to-the-second stock prices.

How much does it cost to build an app with Softr?

Softr’s basic version starts at $49/month. If you want to create an app with more features, like a login to a member’s area, you’ll need to pay $139/month.

Features

  • Soft realizes that most people are building apps for anonymous public users who find your app using a browser like Chrome. To help get your app in front of more people, Softr comes packed with SEO features.
  • If you want to build an app fast, use Softr’s AI feature, which will design how your app looks in seconds after you enter a short 200-word prompt.

#2 The Best Balance of Ease and Functionality

Adalo

What is it?

Adalo is an intuitive, simple-to-understand, no-code app builder that lets you build a very functional app to your exact taste and needs - you can start using Adalo right out of the box.

What kinds of apps can you make?

Adalo is very easy to learn and use and more advanced than Softr in terms of the functionality you can build.

You’ll be able to build almost any app you can imagine using Adalo: A restaurant booking and takeout system, a doggie daycare app that works like Uber, and anything else you can imagine.

How much does it cost to build an app with Adalo?

Get started with Adalo at $36/month

Features

  • When you finish building your Adalo app, you can publish it on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. This gets your app in front of a gigantic audience and makes it easy for people to download your app directly to their phones.
  • Adalo’s free version is the most powerful and has more features than any other free version on my list. It’s possible to build out most of your app at no cost.
  • Adalo comes with a built-in geolocation feature that lets you calculate distances, share your location, or find addresses. This makes building delivery apps super simple.

#3 An Easy But Limited App Builder for Local and Small Businesses

GoodBarber

What is it?

GoodBarber is a no-code app builder that specifically serves online stores and local businesses.

What kinds of apps can you make?

GoodBarber is a great choice for people who own an online business or brick-and-mortar store. It allows you to build an app that will help you sell and manage your products. You can create an inventory management app, sell a brand-new product on a store you built, or send subscribers a periodical.

While GoodBarber is excellent for creating an app to sell a product, you can’t use it to build anything too complex, like a social network app, and you won’t have as much design flexibility as other app builders.

How much does it cost to build an app with GoodBarber?

Content creators who sell to subscribers can use GoodBarber for $30/month. For $40/month, you can build an app to sell physical products.

Features

  • GoodBarber is a great app builder if you want to build out your store right out of the box so you can start selling products fast.

#4 The Easiest App Builder for Existing Companies

NoLoco

What is it?

NoLoco is an app builder for existing businesses that already have a database, and now have several employees who need unique internal tools to help with their work.

What kinds of apps can you make?

NoLoco is geared toward making internal business apps that enhance operations and administrative tasks. You’ll have the power to create your own unique client relationship management (CRM) systems, customer portals, payment dashboards, and more.

How much does it cost to build an app with NoLoco?

If you have a small team of up to 10 users, NoLoco will cost $39/month. If you have a team of up to 100 users, you can go with NoLoco’s business version for $255/month.

Businesses that have more than 100 users should contact NoLoco directly for Enterprise version pricing

Features

  • NoLoco makes it easy to craft your app with workflows that are customized to your business, so you won’t get bogged down by “one-size-fits-all all solutions” that don’t work exactly to your needs.
  • You can easily integrate data from a spreadsheet or Airtable with NoLoco, which will make building an app with your existing business data easier.

#5 Easy If You’re a Designer, Hard if You're Not

Bravo Studio

What is it?

Bravo Studio is the easiest no-code app builder for designers who have experience with Figma; it lets you turn your Figma design directly into a gorgeous app. Read our full review on Bravo here.

What kinds of apps can you make?

Before building your app with Bravo Studio, you’ll need to be able to create a design with Figma. If you don’t know how to use Figma, you’ll likely find Bravo Studio very difficult.

Bravo is great for building apps that prioritize aesthetics and need to be eye-catching, like apps that sell niche or luxury goods.

How much does it cost to build an app with Bravo Studio?

At $30/month, Bravo is quite competitively priced, but the app you build will include Bravo Studio Branding. If you want to drop the branding, go for the $117/month version.

Features

  • After you finish building your prototype, other Bravo Studio users can test your app with Bravo Vision. This will get your app in the hands of users who will give you feedback before publishing it in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
  • Rather than build everything yourself with Bravo, you’ll get access to several easy-to-use components right out of the box.

#6 If You Want Your Own Drag and Drop Design, But Have Someone Else Build it

Builder.ai

What is it?

Builder.ai is half app builder, half developer. It’s easy to use because it lets you drag and drop your app’s basic designs. Then, it hands over building the rest of your app to an experienced development team, so you don’t have to do any heavy lifting.

What kinds of apps can you make?

There’s really no limit to the apps that you can create with Builder.ai. Because Builder’s development team works with you, they can add special bespoke functions and features to your app that you really can’t find on any other app builder.

For instance, Builder’s team can custom-make your own niche templates or implement blockchain-based features into your app.

How much does it cost to build an app with Builder.ai?

Builder.ai is the most expensive app builder on my list. It costs $200/month, but you need to pay for 24 months upfront, bringing the total payment to at least $4,800.

Features

  • Once the Builder.ai team creates your app, you’ll have access to aftercare, updates, and support for 2 years.
  • Unlike every other option on this list, you get to keep your app’s source code if you want to further tinker with it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Is the Easiest No-Code App Builder?

The easiest no-code app builder on my list is Softr because it has a super-simple drag-and-drop interface.

While even the most tech-allergic Luddite can start building an app with Sofr in minutes, it comes with drawbacks like design and customization limitations. Softr is a good choice for building basic apps only.

When people want an easy no-code app builder that gives them nearly unlimited customization and design power, I always recommend Adalo. While Adalo is not quite as simple as Softr, Adalo’s drag-and-drop interface is still very easy to get the hang of and gives you more freedom to create your ideal design.

What Is the Cheapest No-Code App Builder?

While GoodBarber is the cheapest no-code app builder at $30/month, it limits the types of apps you can build to those that support paid content subscriptions, e-commerce, and online stores.

If you want an app builder that lets you build more than just a place to sell your goods, I recommend giving Adalo a shot at $36/month.

What Is the Best No-Code App Builder?

Because it doesn’t sacrifice power for flexibility and you can add on a mind-boggling number of functions, I truly believe that Adalo is the best no-code app builder on the market today. Whenever I recommend Adalo to freelancers, entrepreneurs, and small and medium-sized businesses, they’re almost always successful in bringing their app ideas to life.

How Can I Make an App Easily Without Coding?

Making an app is a simple process:

  • Grab a pencil and some paper, write down your app idea, and sketch how you want it to appear. Jot down any function you want it to execute and any special features you want to include.
  • Determine how much money you want to spend on an app builder.
  • Try out the free versions of apps you think you’d like the best from my 6 easiest no-code app builders list. Find out how well they work and if they make the app to what you have in mind.
  • Make your final decision, and don’t hesitate to contact the company for support.

I can’t stress this enough: If you know how to use a computer, you’ll have no problem creating an app with one of my 6 easiest no-code app builders. Just get the ball rolling by trying a few out!
